Take in a show at Storyhouse. Chester’s newest Theatre and Cinema and library. Its a great building with a cafe and restaurant that is superb. Lots of different family events on all through the day and night.

How about some swimming or a work out in the gym, or some badminton, pilates or yoga classes. All of these can be taken at the Northgate Arena, just a 5 minute walk from the racecourse. Its a pay as you go place at very reasonable prices. A terrific city centre facility.

Take a guided bus tour and coordinate that with a trip on the River Dee on the Lady Diana. These trip are very informative, great fun, inexpensive and explain the history of Chester. Everyone enjoys their time on these cruises and tours.

A must visit with the family is Grosvenor Park. Right in the heart of the city this beautiful Capability Brown park features a fabulous ride on steam train for little ones, and acres of grass and flowers for a perfect city centre picnic. The river is just a 2 minute walk from the park. Go to :
